1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the PingArray iOS application and the website at pingarray.teslia.me, including pages describing the app, support options, and legal documents.
This Privacy Policy describes the data practices of Vadym Teslia (“PingArray,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It does not govern the independent privacy practices of Apple, email providers, hosting providers, public DNS operators, CDN providers, or other third parties that may interact with your device or browser.
2. What PingArray does
PingArray is a network diagnostic utility. It can send ICMP, TCP, and HTTP requests to destinations you select, including hosts you add manually and certain built-in public destinations such as public DNS resolvers.
PingArray measures technical information such as latency, availability, packet loss, and related connection results observed from your device at the time of testing.
3. Data stored locally on your device
PingArray may store the following information locally on your device:
- hosts, IP addresses, and destinations that you add or configure;
- built-in destinations that you choose to use;
- probe settings, including protocol selection, intervals, and related preferences;
- measurement history, such as latency values, packet loss, response timing, and availability status; and
- charts, summaries, and quality indicators generated from those measurements.
This information is stored locally for app functionality and is not transmitted to our servers as part of normal use.
4. Data PingArray does not collect from you
PingArray is designed so that, during normal use:
- measurement results are not uploaded to our servers;
- destination history is not sent to our servers;
- no PingArray account is required;
- no central user profile is created for the app’s network-testing features; and
- no advertising identifier is used by PingArray for behavioral advertising.
PingArray does not sell your personal data and does not use your network measurement results for targeted advertising. This is consistent with the app’s local-only design and with user-facing privacy disclosure expectations on mobile app stores.
5. Network requests to third parties
When you run a test, PingArray sends network requests directly from your device to the destination you selected. Depending on the test type, this may include ICMP traffic, TCP connection attempts, or HTTP requests.
Because these requests are sent directly to third-party systems over the Internet, the destination operator, and the network providers involved in routing the traffic, may receive technical information that is normally visible in network communications. This may include your IP address, timestamps, protocol and port information, connection metadata, HTTP request headers, or similar technical request details.
PingArray does not control how third-party operators process information they receive from your device. For example, public DNS or public network operators may maintain their own privacy, logging, security, or abuse-prevention practices. Google Public DNS states that it keeps temporary logs containing IP addresses and query-related information for limited periods and also keeps anonymized or aggregated information. Cloudflare states that its public resolver privacy commitments include source IP anonymization and short retention for certain resolver-related data, while allowing limited processing for troubleshooting and attack mitigation.
6. Contact form and email drafts
The PingArray website may include a contact or feedback form that prepares a draft message in your email application. That form does not submit your message through this website or to PingArray servers. Your message is sent to us only if you choose to send the draft from your own email application or email provider.
If you contact us by email, the message and any information you include in it will be processed by your email provider and ours as part of normal email communication.
7. Website hosting and technical logs
Even when the website does not submit contact-form content to PingArray servers, the website may still be delivered through hosting, CDN, DNS, reverse proxy, or similar infrastructure providers that process ordinary technical request data as part of serving web content. Such technical data may include IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs, referrer information, HTTP method, response status, and similar server or edge log metadata.
This technical processing is typically used for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, caching, traffic delivery, and service integrity.
PingArray does not use these technical logs to build advertising profiles or a central database of app measurement history. However, hosting or infrastructure providers may process and retain such logs under their own operational and legal requirements.
8. No central measurement database
PingArray does not maintain a central database of your latency history, probe history, destination list, or device-based measurement results as part of the app’s normal operation.
If that model changes in the future, this Privacy Policy and any required in-app or store disclosures will be updated before or when the change takes effect.
9. App Store, Apple, and platform providers
If you download PingArray through Apple’s App Store, Apple may process information under its own privacy policies and store-related disclosures. App Store product pages include privacy information intended to help users understand each app’s declared data practices.
PingArray’s own app-side practices remain limited to those described in this Privacy Policy.
10. Legal bases and international users
Depending on where you live, local privacy laws may give you rights regarding personal data. Because PingArray is designed for local-only storage during normal use, the amount of personal data processed directly by PingArray as a developer-controlled app service is limited.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, relevant bases may include:
- providing the functionality of the app or website you requested;
- legitimate interests in operating, securing, and maintaining the app and website; and
- compliance with legal obligations.
11. Data retention
Information stored by PingArray for its core diagnostic functionality remains on your device until you delete it, clear it in the app, remove the app, or otherwise delete it through your device or backup settings.
PingArray does not define retention periods for app measurement data on developer-controlled servers because, in normal app operation, that data is not stored on developer-controlled servers.
Third-party destinations, email providers, hosting providers, and infrastructure providers that receive requests from your device or browser may apply their own retention practices under their own privacy policies.
12. Security
PingArray is designed to minimize developer-side data exposure by keeping measurement data on-device. However, no device, browser, email provider, transmission path, hosting environment, or storage mechanism can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for securing your own device, email environment, local backups, and network environment.
13. Children
PingArray is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. PingArray is not designed to knowingly collect personal data from children through a central developer-operated measurement system.
14. Your choices
You can control much of PingArray’s data handling by how you use the app and website. For example, you may:
- choose which hosts or services to test;
- remove saved destinations or measurement history stored on your device;
- change probe settings and intervals;
- decide whether to use the website’s email-draft contact form; and
- stop using the app and delete it at any time.
Because PingArray’s app measurement data is stored locally, deleting local app data or removing the app may remove that information from your device, subject to your operating system and backup settings.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when PingArray’s features, legal obligations, infrastructure, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted with a new “Last updated” date.
If a change materially affects how data is processed, additional notice may be provided where practical or legally required.
